Getting Started on iOS
1. Sign Up for Flink

After installing flink on your iPhone or iPad you first have to sign up for a flink account. Even if you already have used the free flink web app you still have to sign up to create a pro account (included in your app purchase). If you already signed up for pro on another device or have to sign in again, please use those credentials.
You have two options for signing up:
- Sign in with Apple
- Sign in with your email
Sign in with Apple is a convenient method to use flink without the need to enter any personal details. If you prefer to use your email, you will be asked to provide your email address and a secure password. The authentication with email is handled for flink by Auth0. You will receive an email to confirm your email address, although you can proceed to the next steps without this confirmation.
2. Connect with Strava

After you have completed the signup for the first time you will automatically be shown a screen in your Strava app (if installed on the device) or in a secure pop-up in the flink app to authorize flink to access your data on Strava.
If you have already authorized flink for Strava and you're asked to do it again, please authorize as requested. Flink uses the Strava Athlete ID obtained in this process to merge your accounts with the web app or needs to refresh it's access tokens when requested by Strava's API.
Please note: For flink to work you need to allow at least "View data about your activities" While the other scopes may not be necessary for flink's basic functionality, they are required by other flink features.
3. Import your Data
flink will initially import your Strava activities. If you already have a flink account this step will automatically be skipped by the app.
The import may take up to a few minutes, depending on the number of activities. Flink will show an estimate based on the count of run, ride and swim activities that Strava's API provides. However, since Strava doesn't offer a way to get a complete count of your activities programmatically, the estimate may wildly differ from the time the import takes.
It's not necessary to stay in the app for the import as this happens on flinks servers. If you have allowed flink to send you notifications you will get on, once the import is finished.
All new activities will be added to the database automatically so your app will always be up to date. Since Strava does take between a few seconds to some minutes until it notifies flink (and other 3rd-party applications) about new activities there may be noticeable a time lag.
4. Configure your Views
After your data is ready to view, flink will show only a couple of dashboard cards and charts. In order to make the best use of flinks features, select the main activity type you're interested in (run or ride). To make this and other selections, tap on the blue button in the right top corner. This will bring up the Activity Selection view:
Please note: If you want to have your virtual rides included in flink's ride charts and widgets please select "Include Virtual Activities".
flink will select metric or imperial measurements based on your device's locale by default. You can switch between units as required, this setting will also affect how the widgets display your data.
5. Add Widgets
After you have configured your app you can add multiple flink widgets to your homescreen:
- From the Home Screen, touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps jiggle.
- Tap the Add button in the top left-hand corner.
- Select flink and choose from the different widget types and sizes, then tap Add Widget.
- Tap Done.
To configure the widget, touch and hold a widget until the context menu appears and choose the options to customize the widget to your needs:
